Setting up a Library account

  1. The Library Reading Room can be used without setting up a Library account.
  2. The Library account is required for borrowing books and using an external logged-in access to the databases subscribed by the Library.

In order to get the Library account:

  1. Students, postgraduates and the University staff may use “First log-in in the system” option in the tab “My Account”.
    Note: This option enables the user to request the book for loan but it does not activate other features. For instance, it does not enables the user to use a “quick loan desk” (self-service book loan device in the Didactic Reading Room) or request the holdings from the storage room to the Reading Room. The full activation of the account is done during the first loan at the Student Loan Desk or by the reference librarian on duty.
  2. The Library account may also be activated by the librarian on duty in the appropriate Library unit:
    1. students – at the Student Loan Desk – with valid Student ID Card.
    2. the University staff - in the Main Reading Room or at the Student Loan Desk - with valid document confirming that they are the University employees.
    3. postgraduate students – at the Student Loan Deski if present on the list of students signed by the Manager of the Postgraduate Studies – with valid ID Card.
    4. retired University staff – at the Student Loan Desk or the Main Reading Room or the Fiction Reading Room – with valid ID Card.
    5. non-University postgraduates – at the Student Loan Desk or the Main Reading Room – with the written request of their thesis supervisor.
    6. The University guests: Erasmus visitors, visiting academic staff, etc. – at the Student Loan Desk or the Main Reading Room – with the written request of their hosting University unit.

All Library users are required to clear their Library account when leaving the University community.
