Opening hours - Main Library and faculty libraries

As of 25 May 2020, these services will become available to our Readers:

I. Main Library, open Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM

Until further notice, reading rooms, cloakrooms and the Civil and Environmental Engineering Faculty library remain closed.

Access only from Entrance C, Nowoursynowska Street.

Up to 15 persons are allowed at any time in the hall, including up to five at computers for ordering books (on the right).

Students’ Coursebook Lending Library

  1. Temporarily, during the pandemics, up to 10 volumes can be borrowed for up to 30 days.
  2. To minimise infection risk, we advise you to order online from your own computers.
  3. Ordering borrowed books is suspended until further notice.
  4. Returned books are subject to three days of quarantine before they can be borrowed again. Please do not order copies marked “Do not order – quarantine” in their date of return box.
  5. At the moment, all return dates due after 12 March are extended until 1 June. There is no overdue fine for the time our Library remained closed. Any earlier fines must be settled and confirmed with a copy of payment sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. – a precondition for borrowing new books and for obtaining circular clearance.
  6. Readers may extend return deadlines on a distance basis.

Students preparing to their graduate dissertation defence are also provided with access to dissertation works.

  2. Materials can be accessed in the Special Collection Reading Room, entrance from Hall C, first floor)
  3. Up to six people may enter at any time. Face masks and gloves are required.
  4. Readers wishing to use this possibility should provide library signature numbers for the materials required. Standard access time for one reader is two hours. We remind you that access to dissertation works is only possible with your thesis advisor’s consent. Forms can be downloaded from our website.
  5. A librarian will show you to your work area.
  6. Materials accessed are subject to three days of quarantine, during which time they remain inaccessible.

II. Veterinary Medicine Faculty Library, open 9AM – 3 PM

  1. Visits must be prearranged: e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., phone no. 22 59 35 782,
  2. Books and journals will be handed in by a librarian. Readers return all accessed library materials onto a library trolley.
  3. Up to four readers may be present in the designated room at any time.
  4. Returned books and journals may not be accessed again before a necessary three day quarantine is over.

III. Human Nutrition Faculty Library, open 10 AM – 3 PM

Provides access to graduate dissertations and doctoral dissertations

  2. Up to four people may be present in the library at any time.
  3. Graduate dissertations can only be accessed with your thesis advisor’s consent. The form can be downloaded from our website.

 

IV. The Library of the Faculty of Construction and Environmental Engineering is closed until further notice.

 

In all accessible facilities, readers must observe Chief Sanitary Inspectorate recommendations, in particular:

  1. Wear face protection masks. No service will be provided to people not wearing one!!!
  2. Follow only designated circulation paths.
  3. Keep a distance of at least 2 m.
  4. Observe the recommended admissible number of users.
  5. Use disinfectants before entering any room and after using a computer.
  6. Disposable protection gloves are recommended.
